ADULT SPEECH SERVICES

At New Frontier Speech Therapy, we combine evidence-based therapy approaches to address goals that will have a positive impact on your life.

There are many adults who have been struggling with speech problems their whole life.  Sometimes you just need a tune-up, or sometimes you have a problem that was never addressed.  Speech therapy isn't just for children. Therapy is intended to address the underlying cause of your challenges and help you develop skills so you can live your best life.

SPEECH ~ how you say words

We specialize in working with adults who have residual or unaddressed speech disorders. Maybe you have always wanted to fix that lisp or sound distortion but never did, or maybe you felt that, as an adult, it was too late to do anything about it. Whatever your reason for pursuing speech therapy as an adult, we will work with you to identify your specific goals and deliver therapy that will help you achieve them. Adult speech therapy is provided in a laid-back atmosphere, in our office or online, so you can access therapy where and when it's convenient for you.

FLUENCY ~ strategies, self advocacy, and acceptance

You may have had speech therapy when you were younger and feel ready to begin again as an adult. Whether your fluency has decreased over time, you just never felt like you achieved your goals, or a life event has increased stuttering, we will work with you to achieve your goals. Speech therapy for adults who stutter may include a refresher course on the old strategies that worked well and learning new strategies for where you are today. We will also work on confidence, acceptance, and self-advocacy skills across speaking environments. â€‹

TONGUE THRUST ~ addressing speech and orthodontic issues

Sometimes a lisp and tongue thrust show up together; other times, they do not. Orthodontists will sometimes refer you to a speech therapist if your teeth are moving after braces are removed. If you have tongue thrust, your tongue is pushing against your front teeth, causing them to move. Before you begin orthodontic treatment again, let's evaluate you to see if you have a tongue thrust, and if so, let's correct it so these problems don't occur again.

New Frontier Speech Therapy in Saint Charles, MO is accepting new adult speech therapy clients. We offer therapy for speech, tongue thrust, and stuttering therapy in our clinic and online.
