READING, WRITING, & SPELLING THERAPY
At New Frontier Speech Therapy, we work on letter learning, sound/letter association, phonics, phonological awareness, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and spelling!
We find that so many children are having difficulty keeping up with literacy skills in the classroom, yet they are not qualifying for support services at school, or school services are not enough. Literacy therapy will look at the underlying cause of your child's challenges - be that attention, memory, phonological awareness, dyslexia, or even delays caused by online schooling during COVID - and build skills that will have a lasting impact.

For so many kids that struggle with reading, they have quickly learned to dislike it. That is why we keep sessions fun and light-hearted while targeting the skills they struggle with. Literacy therapy will incorporate as games, hands-on activities, and movement into our sessions. Literacy therapy is highly personalized to your child's age and specific needs and will focus on skills such as:

Not every child will become a lover of books or the spelling bee champion, but it's important to create an environment where reading does not induce stress and anxiety. We will also provide (short, simple, and effective activities for practice at home between our sessions. We also welcome the opportunity to collaborate with teachers and school staff.
